The Dutch Society of Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine (DSDHM) provides education and continuing professional development in diving and hyperbaric medicine. The training programmes for Medical Examiner of Divers (MED – Level 1), Diving Medicine Physician (DMP – Level 2D) and Hyperbaric Medicine Physician (HMP – Level 2H) are accredited by the European College of Baromedicine (ECB) and comply with the European training standards of the European Committee for Hyperbaric Medicine (ECHM) and the European Diving Technology Committee (EDTC).

Other qualifications

• Level 3 – Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine Expert or Consultant
  Level 3 represents the highest level of expertise within the European ECHM/EDTC framework and is not a regular NVD training program.
• Associated Specialist
  An Associated Specialist is a medical specialist with specific expertise in diving or hyperbaric medicine within their own clinical specialty. It is a function rather than a separate professional qualification in diving medicine.

• Diving Physician A/B
  Diving Physician A and B are Dutch qualifications for physicians working in occupational diving medicine. They fall outside the European MED, DMP and HMP certification framework.
